I chose the quote:
“The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”
-by Dr. Seuss.
There are many reasons as to why I chose this quote. I feel that it is an amazing quote because it is simple, and it's message is clear. It is true that the more things that you read, the more that you will know and I feel that it is important for everyone to read, because knowledge is a very important aspect of living. With that knowledge you can unlock your potential and enjoy life more, and you'll be more successful than if you have never read. Although, I think it is also deeply important to enjoy what you are reading, and find something that truly matters to you in Literature.
I agree, but what do books, especially fiction, give us that the Internet cannot?
ReplyDeleteI feel it helps in many ways, for example, it teaches us different ways of writing. If you just google, how to write a book, it isn't going to give you the same inspiration and ideas, as reading books will. It is also a form of enjoyment, and can be brought with us wherever we go, whereas there may not be internet where you go. There are many reasons, and I believe that obviously they must be important in some way or other, or else we would all be relying on the Internet, and books would not be used anymore.
