A "classic" novel is a novel which contains many important things that have meaning to multiple people leading to their success. For example, the bible is a classic, because it talks of historic events, and usually has a moral to the stories it tells. A classic is an amazing book which is hard to put down, has some significant meaning to it. It can be something of historic significance, or it can be a wonderful story with fascinating writing.
The book I am reading right now, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, is what I consider to be a classic because it has an amazing storyline which pulls you in and keeps you interested till the end. I feel this is the way that all the Harry Potter books are seen as they have the unique way of telling their story and is very humourous and entertaining. I believe that future generations should read this book (and the series!) because they are an amazing story which will truly impact your feelings and emotions. Another factor which decides whether a story is a classic is if it is relatable to yourself or your life. While some classics may not be relateable, it helps to make them more interesting to the reader.
I like the way you used a relation to the bible. I never have even thought about the bible being a classic, and I'm glad you have used it as an example! I agree with your defintion of a classic and how you think Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is a classic.
ReplyDeleteGood job!
I agree also, the bible would most definitely a classic. Although it isn't maybe the first thing that comes to mind when you say, "classic" it has the traits of being one. For my classic post, I blogged about the movie "The Titanic". I said The Titanic was a classic because every time you watch it,you get a new understanding/appreciation for the struggle the people on the ship were put through. I think this is the same for the bible.
