9. The Call to Action

The call to action for our hero 'Robert Langdon' in the book is called to action by a disturbing message which he alone recieves and is asked to do something which he doesn't understand. The action which calls him is when he sees his friend's hand, cut off. It is tatooed in a way that invites him to join an exclusive club. Then he is sent on a perilous journey in which failure will cost him his live, and his friend's. This call to action is incredible, and shocking, and gripping, and makes you want to know what's going on as the world is changed, and shocking secrets are revealed. This intense part, invites you to read more and more.

"Peter Solomon's severed right hand was standing upright, the flat plane of the detached wrist skewered down onto the spike of a small wooden stand" (The Lost Symbol, Dan Brown, 50)
